Description:
To design a street corner is to take the responsibility for creating a physical emblem for the neighborhood. This project thus chose to express its presence through timelessness, by implementing a structural natural stone façade. Stone is pure, its monolithic nature is true to its purpose: a massive and load-bearing façade, able to withstand time. Behind this mineral threshold, is a time-conscious intervention: a light and dismantlable wooden structure, currently hosting a wood workshop and housing; able to evolve with time. The wooden interior structure is characterized by a “strip”, a timber frame-wall crossing the entire plot, where all the technical facilities of the building are located.
