Description:
The proposal aims to merge the dynamic qualities of natural landscapes with the functional nature of contemporary architecture. Inspired by the historical duality of ornamentation—serving both aesthetic and practical roles—the design incorporates tiles that enhance biodiversity while facilitating natural processes. These organic, fluid tiles not only serve as decoration but as active elements in the BK faculty’s ecosystem. They guide rainwater drainage and mitigate stormwater runoff, blending the built environment with nature. Through their interlocking shapes, the tiles blur boundaries, creating a seamless transition between nature and architecture. This project redefines ornamentation as a functional tool, promoting relaxation and focus within the campus environment.
