Description:
A clear structural hierarchy and the monolithic composition of mineral and bio based materials shape the buildings appearance to the outside. The strict expression of verticality is broken up by a playful use of color and texture. Exceptional situations in the rhythm of the façade function as thresholds between the buildings interior and the city.
The entrance is marked by a free standing polygonal concrete column. From there, an open hallway reaches out to the backside of the plot from wich on an outdoor staircase leads to the residential floors. This certain layering of privacy is continued on the inside of the apartments. The circulation allows a free movement through the living area, from the more exposed corner situation to the private zones in the back. The ground floor serves as a non consumerist place of encounter for the neighborhoods’ community. Different levels of height, which meet in a central spiral stair, divide the space and allow to make use of it in many ways.
