Description:
Our vision was to create a sculptural fauna ark for bats, swifts, sparrows, with an organic and seamless approach to modularity. We aimed to combined inhabitation and beauty - something that could be left after the construction is over and add aesthetic value. It consists of the same 1 module repeated and enlarged from the bottom to the top. The bottom modules function as support and the top ones host the endangered species. This form looks like it grows from the ground up, organically but also systematically. The construction consists of one pole for stability cast into the foundation. The modules are made of floor plates stacked on top of each other and walls in between for support and separation of nests. For the elevation is made by reed panels (biobased, waterproof and sustainable) that were twisted and anchored in the wooden plates.
