Once a flower factory and originally converted from the Meneba Factory—a former grain mill on the banks of the Maas in Rotterdam Zuid—this historic building has now been repurposed as a medtech campus dedicated to plant research. The towering silos now house an auditorium and vertical farming, using their height and lack of natural light effectively. An atrium serves as the heart of the building, connecting students, researchers, and professionals. Above the original warehouse, a high-tech top-up structure contrasts with the heavy industrial character of the old factory. This transformation merges history and innovation, giving the Meneba factory a new future.
