Description:
Lüderitz, Namibia, stands on the brink of rapid transformation as an influx of migrant workers drives a surge in population. The UBUNTU Coastal Settlement addresses this challenge with a visionary approach to housing. Designed for 22 families, it combines practical, comfortable living spaces with a central, semi-open communal building that fosters connection and unity. Situated in one of the world’s most arid regions, the settlement pioneers self-sufficiency in water management, utilizing innovative fog nets to harvest moisture from the air. UBUNTU exemplifies thoughtful, responsive design, merging resilience with community in the face of change.
