Description:
This public condenser in Copenhagen serves as a catalyst for social connection and collectively addressing the depression issue in a gentrified community. Integrating a bath house, physically healing the depression, the building coexists with various social activities among different age groups, constructing an emotional bond between the public and the community. The idea of “de-fragmentation”, treats breakage and re-assemblage as part of the memory of the community. By materializing the nostalgic emotion into the reuse of architectural elements embedded with community memories, it recalls the familiarity of the urban image, its demolition, and regeneration, to heal the Communal Nostalgic Depression.
